Former striker Kevin Campbell is convinced Stefan de Vrij will ‘soon join’ Antonio Conte at Tottenham.

The Italian tactician took charge of Spurs less than a week ago and according to reports in England, Tottenham players are happy with his methods.

However, with the January transfer window approaching, more new faces will move to North London.

The Premier League side have reportedly set their sights on several Serie A players, including many under contract with Inter.

Conte’s transfer targets at Tottenham revealed

The Nerazzurri are not open to selling their best players unless they ask to leave. The likes of Alessandro Bastoni, Lautaro Martinez and Nicolò Barella have been linked with a move to Tottenham, but have recently extended their contracts with the Serie A champions.

Stefan De Vrij and Marcelo Brozovic are also on Conte’s shortlist.

The Croat’s contract expires in the summer, while De Vrij’s deal ends in 2023.

Former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell is convinced that the Dutchman will soon join Conte in North London.

Inter send message to Conte with Barella renewal

“Do they need another centre-half? They have got numbers back there,” he told Football Insider.

“Conte will have his own mind of what he wants to do and how he wants to play. The key is signing players who are going to make this team better. They don’t need bodies.

“If De Vrij is the one Conte’s wants, Spurs will go and get him. Conte is very ruthless like that. I’m sure we’ll see him in a Spurs shirt soon.”

Tuttosport reported during the summer that De Vrij’s agent Mino Raiola had been offering De Vrij to many Premier League club, hoping to take his client to England. A Tottenham confirmed to Football Insider that Spurs are strongly interested in signing the former Lazio defender in January.

  1. I think he would be up there with the likes of Van Dijk and Stones.

Inter won’t let him cheap though, and considering that his new partner (Romero) just left Atalanta for a hefty 50+mil….

  2. De Vrij, Brozovic and Kessie are all possibilities to go to Tottenham. The first two are obvious, but Conte liked Kessie for a few year’s now and might make a move for him since he won’t resign for us.

  3. in January, big clubs NEVER EVER sell key players. Never ever. It will damage Inters chances of winning the scudetto and doing well in Europe. Extremely unlikely unless Tottenham have an obscene amount of money to offer, and Inters owners are looking for money money to pay off debts

  4. January transfer excluded. In summer, for 80m they can have Raiola`s player.

Then it`s Spurs turn to convince De Vrij LOL.
