Diego Forlan has suffered a further set-back in his Inter career as the club confirm he is undergoing tests on another suspected muscle injury.
The 32-year-old suffered a pulled hamstring in mid-October whilst on international duty with Uruguay and subsequently missed 10 weeks of the season for the Nerazzurri.
Thought on his way back to full fitness, the forward had managed four League appearances since mid-December, including a cameo from the bench in Inter’s 1-0 win over Milan on Sunday.
However, after training today, the club confirmed in an official note on their website that the former Villarreal man is being assessed for a possible thigh injury. The club are keen to point out that it is not the same leg that he suffered the hamstring injury with.
Depending on the severity of the injury, Forlan could be out of action for another extended period.
