The possibility of Italian giants Inter swapping Diego Forlan for Sao Paulo starlet Lucas has been rejected.

The Uruguayan international only joined the Nerazzurri in the summer from Atletico Madrid, but he’s disappointed so far in an injury-hit spell.

Stories this week have suggested that the striker could now be heading to Brazil as part of a deal to sign 19-year-old midfielder Lucas.

“I can categorically rule out the rumours of a swap with Lucas,” Forlan’s agent Daniel Bolotnicoff told FC Inter News.

“There has been no contact with Sao Paulo at all. I don’t think that there is a chance of a move.

“Diego is happy in Milan and he’s just focused on helping the side win something important this season.”

The 32-year-old Forlan, presently out for a month, has scored once in nine Leagues games for the club.
