Romelu Lukaku has averaged one goal every 87 minutes for Roma this season, his best result in the top five European leagues.

The Roma striker contributed to a 4-1 win over Cagliari on Sunday by scoring two goals at the Sardegna Arena.

The Belgian has already netted seven times in eight appearances across all competitions for the Giallorossi in 2023-24.

However, as highlighted by Opta, his minute-to-goal ratio is even more impressive, as Lukaku has managed one goal every 87 minutes this season. This is his best personal result since playing in Europe’s top-five league.

The 30-year-old scored 87 goals in 166 games at Everton, 42 in 96 games for Manchester United and 78 in 132 appearances for Inter.

He didn’t impress at Chelsea by scoring 15 goals in 59 games with the Blues. However, Lukaku is still under contract at Stamford Bridge as he joined Roma on a dry loan deal last summer, meaning the Giallorossi do not have an option to sign him permanently in June 2024.

  1. Calm down, it’s the start of the season. And his 7 goals have all been against lower sides. No surprise there.

His 4 best full seasons of goals/min from open play have all been in England.
