Milan coach Paulo Fonseca is already under pressure after a poor start to the season, reports Tuttosport, sparking speculations of Massimiliano Allegri’s potential return to San Siro.

Milan earned just one point in the opening two Serie A games of the season against Torino and Parma, so Fonseca is already being questioned by fans and media.

Monday’s printed edition of Tuttosport newspaper, on page 21, reports that Milan’s poor start has already sparked speculation about Allegri’s possible return to the club.

Tuttosport: Fonseca under pressure, Allegri linked with Milan return

The Turin-based paper, however, reports that Milan directors don’t even consider sacking Fonseca at this stage. Milan’s start was obviously disappointing, but the Portuguese is under contract until June 2027, and all club directors are backing the new coach.

At the same time, the next Serie A game against Lazio is already crucial for Fonseca, as another disappointing result would put him under severe pressure during the international break in September.

Italian journalist Franco Ordine also mentioned Allegri during a post-match show on Canale 5 last night but insisted that the ex-Rossoneri coach won’t even be considered among Fonseca’s possible replacements as Milan don’t like coaches “with personality who want to leave their mark, such as Antonio Conte or Roberto De Zerbi.”

  1. Checking in before checking out for good Obviously, Milan owners & that self-proclaimed king-of-Milan have no ideas how to run a club & mercato. It was a mistake from the beginning hiring Fonseca, now he’s all to blame. Very disappointed.

  2. Milan don’t like coaches with personality”
That’s what having American owners does to you. Also good to have it confirmed Fonseca has no personality. That’s how I remember him at Roma.
