Paulo Fonseca found it “difficult to accept” Roma’s 2-2 draw with Wolfsberg, even if they reached the Europa League Round of 32. "We won't go far with that attitude."
The Giallorossi knew they would qualify with at least a draw, and could even afford to lose as long as Istanbul Basaksehir didn’t beat Borussia Monchengladbach.
In the end, the Turkish side won 2-1 in Germany to eliminate the current Bundesliga leaders.

“We achieved our objective, which is qualification. It would’ve been important to win, but we did not play with the right attitude,” the coach told Sky Sport Italia.
“Evidently, we made the mistake of thinking the game was won before it even began, but Wolfsberg are a good team. We made a lot of mistakes, they pressed us and it’s normal after that many errors that we cannot get the result we want.
“Borussia Monchengladbach went out, but it’s not easy for me to accept this result. Wolfsberg played without pressure on their shoulders, they had a great attitude and I did not like our performance.
“We must learn to control the tempo of the game. When we introduced Pellegrini and Zaniolo, we did better, but in the first half we were giving the ball away constantly and created the situations for our opponents to exploit.”
Considering the likes of Lazio and Borussia Monchengladbach have gone out already, Fonseca was asked if he thought Roma could win the Europa League.
“Not with this attitude. Not with this attitude. There are many strong teams out there, I have no preferences for the draw.”
