Paulo Fonseca felt Roma “could’ve won by five or six goals” after their 1-0 victory away to Lecce and were in complete control.

Edin Dzeko’s header on a Henrikh Mkhitaryan cross proved the only goal of the game, as Aleksandar Kolarov’s penalty was saved by Gabriel.

“It is always important to win this type of match. We put in a good performance, controlled the game and created many scoring opportunities,” the Coach told DAZN.

“We missed the penalty too, but I think the lads worked very hard. We know that our approach means we’ll always allow chances to the opposition, but today we could’ve won by five or six goals.

“Chris Smalling and Gianluca Mancini played well, it was important to keep a clean sheet. It don’t think the system is as important as the dynamics of the team and the movements. I like the way this team moved today.”
