Paulo Fonseca has ‘claimed Fabio Maresca 'belongs to the past' and has insisted Roma want to win against CSKA Sofia.

The Giallorossi have already won the Europa League Group A as they face CSKA Sofia away tomorrow.

“It’s not over yet,” Fonseca told Sky Sport.

“It is true that we are first in the group but we want to play the next game to win it. After the group stage we will meet very strong teams, it will be a mini Champions League. Let’s see what will happen."

Fonseca was sent off by Fabio Maresca in Roma-Sassuolo last weekend with the referee who has been harshly criticised by Italian media.

“I left him behind, it all belongs to the past, now I am only focused on the game.

“Serie A is difficult, the league is very balanced at the moment. Many clubs can aim for the top positions."

Chris Smalling returns to action while Jordan Veretout and Gianluca Mancini are out of action.

“I think Veretout will be ready for Bologna on Sunday while it will be more difficult for Mancini,” Fonseca concluded.
