La Gazzetta dello Sport reports Paulo Fonseca insisted during the break of FiorentinaMilan that Christian Pulisic should be taking penalty kicks, so he was furious to see Fikayo Tomori and Tammy Abraham ignore his orders in the second half.

Theo Hernandez and Abraham missed two penalty kicks for Milan in Sunday’s 2-1 loss against Fiorentina, but what irritated the Rossoneri coach Fonseca was that Pulisic, the designated penalty taker, was ignored by his teammates.

Gazzetta reports that Fonseca and his staff didn’t have time to tell Theo that Pulisic should take the penalty in the first half. It is reported that the USMNT international ‘respected’ Theo’s experience in the team and let his teammate take the penalty.

During the half-time break, Fonseca reproached his players, insisting that Pulisic should have shown up from the spot.

However, exactly the same incident occurred in the second half, when Milan were awarded another penalty. This time, Tomori immediately gave the ball to his compatriot Abraham, who put Pulisic aside to take the second spot-kick.

According to Gazzetta, Fonseca is particularly irritated with the English pair as they ignored his orders only a few minutes after his speech in the dressing room.

The pink paper reports that it would not be surprising to see both players start on the bench in the next Serie A game against Udinese after the break.
