The first leg in the Europa League Round of 32 kicks off on Thursday at 17.55 GMT.
“It’s very special for me to return home, as I was with Braga for a year and won a trophy here. I left behind many friends and can’t wait to see them again,” said Fonseca in his press conference.
“This is going to be a difficult match and many might not realise how difficult, but I think my players are now fully aware of the situation.
“Obviously, there is a difference between the squads, but Braga are more than capable of fighting it out, they are a strong side. You just need to look at the results they have achieved this season.
“I expect an open game and hope the weather is kind so that both teams can show what they can do. These are two sides who both like to take the initiative and that is why I expect an open and attacking game.”
The coach was asked by Sky Sport Italia who will be the captain tomorrow and made two revelations.
“Dzeko will be back in the starting XI and the captain will be Bryan Cristante.”
This confirms the centre-forward is now considered second choice to Borja Mayoral and has still been stripped of the captain’s armband following his row with the coach.
