Alessandro Florenzi is reportedly on the verge of signing for Milan, leaving Roma on loan with option to buy, which could become an obligation.

He had hoped that after spells at Valencia and Paris Saint-Germain, the introduction of coach Jose Mourinho could see him revitalise his Roma career.

However, there is again no room for him at the Stadio Olimpico and it seems this time the 30-year-old is ready to make a clean break.

Because of that, Sky Sport Italia suggest Florenzi will no longer wear his traditional 24 jersey at Milan.

The negotiations with Milan proceeded rapidly and a deal is practically done, a loan with option to buy that could become an obligation if certain conditions are met.

Florenzi has seemingly accepted the personal terms put forward by the Rossoneri, so an announcement should be fairly imminent.

Milan had been targeting Diogo Dalot of Manchester United or Real Madrid’s Alvaro Odriozola for the right-back slot in alternative to first choice Davide Calabria, but they proved too expensive.

  1. Good player, good deal. He’s ready and already a veteran. We’re set in the right back role.
