Despite an injury crisis that has moved Gianluca Mancini to midfield, Florenzi is only on the bench.

“I want to reassure everyone that I am fine and any rumours otherwise are false,” Florenzi told Roma TV.

“I just had this nasty bout of flu, but I got over it weeks ago. I just need some training sessions to get back up to speed, but I am available and will give my contribution in this match too.

“We lacked determination against Sampdoria and must show a different type of character, of humility, teamwork and play every ball as if it was the last. It’s the only way to achieve good results.

“We studied Borussia Monchengladbach and know where to hit them.”
