“Compared to previous games, I had more space also thanks to the good movement of the lads in front. Mimmo scored on my pass, so that went well.
“We are happy with the victory, as it was important to start strong,” Florenzi told RAI Sport.
“Nothing is to be taken for granted, but all those who come into this squad are really talented. The positive is that whoever comes in, they already manage to settle very quickly into the team identity that is developed.”
The Azzurri struggled in the second half and Gianluigi Donnarumma had to make a couple of saves.
“The first 10 minutes after the restart, they were really aggressive and used their physicality. We had Lorenzo Pellegrini who was always free to receive the pass, but after the break they blocked that pass off and we took a while to find a different way around.
“We need to avoid those situations and keep improving all the time.”
