Milan full-back Alessandro Florenzi has arrived at the public prosecutor’s office in Turin to give his deposition in the investigation into illegal gambling.

It was reported last night by news agency AGI that Florenzi had been placed under formal investigation as part of the same inquiry that already interviewed Sandro Tonali, Nicolò Fagioli and Nicolò Zaniolo.

That is now confirmed, as the former Roma and Paris Saint-Germain player arrived at the prosecutor’s office in Turin at 14.30 GMT.

He is expected to remain for several hours to give a full deposition and answer the questions put by the prosecutor.

According to the initial reports, Florenzi – like Zaniolo – is so far only accused of gambling with video poker, blackjack and other such games rather than betting on sporting events.

If that is confirmed, it is likely he will only face a fine and no significant ban.

Tonali was given a 10-month ban and Fagioli a seven-month suspension, as they were placing bets on football matches.
