Alessandro Florenzi says Roma need to instill fear in their opponents once again, and defends Seydou Doumbia.

The Giallorossi take on Feyenoord tomorrow in Rome, and after a poor run of form, including a draw with troubled Parma, the Italian international says Rome must rediscover the fear factor.

“Last year I think teams came here afraid of playing us,” Florenzi said in a pre-match Press conference.

“We have to bring back that fear in our opponents, by pressing them and trying to find tactical solutions.”

Florenzi also hit out at the club’s supporters after whistles were directed at Seydou Doumbia during the 0-0 draw with the Ducali.

“At the moment it’s not easy, because we’ve been whistled, something that could apply to the whole team and not just Seydou.

“I’ve never seen a player booed after 60 minutes, but I think it was for the whole team. I hope I’ve understood correctly, if not you’ll have to explain it to me again.

“We have faith in Seydou.

“If the fans decide to come tomorrow, they’ll see a fierce Roma which is ready to do battle and emerge with the victory.

“Can we go all the way? I don’t know, to tell you the truth, but we can progress, absolutely.

“We know we’re strong, if we leave everything out on the pitch, and fight together then we can progress. We’re just thinking about tomorrow’s game."
