Benfica midfielder Florentino is reportedly set to join Sampdoria on loan with an option to buy.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the 22-year-old will move to the Stadio Ferraris on an initial loan deal with an option to buy for €15m.

The Portuguese midfielder has 32 appearances with Benfica at a senior level. He spent the last season on loan at Monaco, where he only managed 11 games across all competitions.

The Blucerchiati have hade a quiet transfer window as Florentino would be their first signing this summer.

Roberto D’Aversa’s side have one point after the first two Serie A games of the season as they lost to Milan in their season debut at Marassi and picked up a draw away at Sassuolo yesterday.
