Galatasaray are working hard to try and sign Roma exile Nicolo Zaniolo and reportedly hope to agree a deal in the coming hours.
The Turkish outfit have been in close contact with the Giallorossi in recent days, keen to snap up the unhappy 23-year-old, who has been entirely excluded from Jose Mourinho’s project in the Italian capital.
Galatasaray offered Roma €18m plus €4m in add-ons for Zaniolo, proposing a loan deal with an obligation to buy clause attached. The Roman club are asking for €25m total but current indications suggest that they’d accept €23m for the player.
As reported by Calciomercato.com, confidence is rising in Istanbul that a deal can be agreed and both a flight and medicals have been booked for Zaniolo, leaving Galatasaray to find an agreement with Roma before the Turkish transfer window closes on Wednesday February 8.
The 23-year-old Italian forward has agreed to a three-year deal worth around €3.5m net per season, but the issue of the release clause still needs to be resolved, with the player wanting one below €30m to give him an escape should things go well in Turkey.
