Former Milan midfielder Mathieu Flamini believes Italy can reach the Euro 2020 Final. ‘A young, solid team with quality’.

Italy started the European Championship with a 3-0 win over Turkey on Friday. Against Switzerland, you can follow the action as it happens on the Liveblog HERE.

The former France international Flamini retired from football in 2019 and spent five years at Milan between 2008 and 2013.

Ahead of tonight’s Group A fixture between Italy and Switzerland, the 37-year-old pointed at the quality in the Azzurri squad and believes Roberto Mancini’s men can go far in the tournament.

“Italy have a very solid team, a strong goalkeeper and an experienced defence, with a very confident midfield,” Mathieu told Sky Sport Italia.

“Jorginho has just won the Champions league. Even in front, [Ciro] Immobile and [Lorenzo] Insigne can score in every game.

“I think they have the qualities to reach the semi-finals or the Final. I see a young, solid team with quality.”
