The forward has been a hit since moving to the Brazilian side on loan from Inter, and now their President wants to make him a permanent signing.

“We have been in touch with Inter,” Landim said at a press conference. “We haven’t agreed on anything yet, but the negotiations are well under way.”

The 23-year-old was brought back to his homeland after unsuccessful stints at San Siro and Benfica, but he is still tied to the Nerazzurri.

“Everything will depend on what the player would like to do and, thereafter, we will have to discuss the wages.

“More talks are scheduled for the end of the year and Gabigol has made it known that he would like to discuss his future at the end of the season, which has now been extended to after the Club World Cup.”
