4th spot is held by Milan’s 6-0 win in the 2000/01 season; the match is still the biggest win in a Derby della Madonnina, making it an unforgettable clash. It is also remembered for being the game in which Gianni Comandini scored his only two league goals for the Rossoneri.
Milan’s 3-2 win over Inter in the 2003/04 season takes 3rd place – The Nerazzurri took a 2-0 lead thanks to Stankovic and Javier Zanetti, but Carlo Ancelotti’s side secured a comeback after goals from Jon Dahl Tomasson, Kaka and Seedorf turned the game on it’s head.
Taking the silver medal is Inter’s dominant 4-0 win during the Nerazzurri’s Treble winning campaign under coach Jose Mourinho; Thiago Motta, Diego Milito, Maicon and Stankovic made the difference as an unstoppable Inter flew to eternal glory.
Finally, the most memorable derby of the 21st century is the return leg of the 2002/03 Champions League semi-finals. Andriy Shevchenko scored the opener in the 45th minute before Obafemi Martins picked up a late equaliser in the 83rd minute. Unluckily for the Nerazzurri, it wasn’t enough as Milan went through on ‘away’ goals. They would go on to beat Juventus in the finals.
