West Ham United are expected to make their first offer for Denis Zakaria at circa €18m, which is €7m off the Juventus asking price, but they should reach a compromise.

The midfielder is likely to head back to the Premier League even after his loan experience at Chelsea failed to do enough to make the move permanent.

Negotiations have been going with West Ham for several days and Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio claims the opening bid will be in the region of €18m later this week.

That won’t be enough to clinch a deal, as Juve are asking for closer to €25m for Zakaria, but they will probably reach a compromise next week.

The 26-year-old has 49 senior caps for Switzerland and the Turin giants purchased him from Borussia Monchengladbach for €10m in January 2022.

At least the loan to Chelsea got them €3m for the season, but he is not part of their plans for the new campaign under coach Max Allegri.
