Ex-Serie A Coach Claudio Onofri says that Fiorentina's ‘new B2’ prospects are good players, but not quite ready yet for the top flight.

Viola strikers Khouma Babacar, 21, and Federico Bernardeschi, 20, have already been dubbed the ‘new B2’, as the most promising attacking pair at the club since Roberto Baggio and Stefano Borgonovo.

They are being pushed into the starting line-up in Florence due to the team's current injury crisis, but ex-Coach and football pundit Onofri is not so sure.

“They are young players who must not be put under too much pressure,' he has warned in an interview with Tuttomercatoweb.

“Without Gomez and Rossi the team has been deprived of an important asset, Fiorentina have been very unlucky.

“These two young players are good, but they must be allowed to grow slowly, not least because there is a gap in values between Serie B and Serie A, where the defenders are stronger and more experienced.

“You have to have patience,” Onofri insisted. “Just look at the examples of Immobile and Verratti.”

The young duo featured in Fiorentina’s goalless draw with Sassuolo” data-scaytid=”25″>Sassuolo on Wednesday night.

“I was expecting a better game, Montella and Di Francesco usually adopt a more offensive playing style.

“In reality it was only Fiorentina that did this, but I understand that Di Francesco needed to defend himself after the disaster in Milan.

“Fiorentina attacked, but they did not create many chances, and Sassuolo deserved the draw.”
