Fiorentina are working on strengthening Vincenzo Italiano’s midfield and they’ve reportedly decided to make a move for Tottenham’s Giovani Lo Celso.

The Viola have been keeping an eye on the 26-year-old Argentinian midfielder for a while now and they were keen to pick him up in January before he completed a loan move to Villarreal. Lo Celso has since returned to North London and Spurs are now looking for a new taker, with Antonio Conte not keen to retain him.

As reported by La Nazione, Lo Celso is a concrete target for Fiorentina and they’re in talks with Tottenham to try and agree a loan deal with a buy option attached for Lo Celso.

The 26-year-old is keen to rediscover his form following a difficult 12 months and he’s open to the move to Florence.

Last season, Lo Celso made 15 La Liga appearances whilst on loan with Villarreal, for a total of 950 minutes. In that time, he scored one goal and provided one assist.
