Fiorentina are in negotiations with KRC Genk defender and Ecuador international Daniel Muñoz in a deal worth €7m plus bonuses.

According to WinSportsTV in South America, the Viola are discussing the terms of the deal with agent Juan Pablo Angel.

He is currently playing for Belgian side Genk, who are requesting circa €7m plus add-ons.

The right-back turned 25 in May and can also play in central defence.

Muñoz has six senior caps for Ecuador, featuring in the Copa America this summer.

Genk only signed him from Atletico Nacional in July 2020 for €4.5m, but he made 44 competitive appearances for the club last season.

He contributed an impressive eight assists and one goal.

The plan for Fiorentina is to pay for this move with the €12m raised by selling Pol Lirola to Olympique Marseille.

The Spaniard already spent last season on loan in France and wants to make the transfer permanent, but the two clubs have been discussing the details for several weeks now.
