According to Sky Sport Italia, Franck Ribery will not renew his contract with Fiorentina, so can leave as a free agent.

The 38-year-old joined the Viola for free after 12 years at Bayern Munich, signing on in August 2019.

His contract expires on June 30 and his future has been dependent largely on who would take over the job of coach at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

Sky Sport Italia report this evening that Ribery is not in the plans of Vincenzo Italiano, who is making the move from Spezia, so the club is not going to offer him a new contract.

Ribery is seemingly still eager to continue playing in Italy, so it remains to be seen if he’ll sign for another Serie A club.

He scored two goals and provided seven assists in 29 Serie A appearances this season, but Fiorentina struggled against the threat of relegation for most of the campaign.

Ribery had ankle surgery in December 2019 that ruled him out of action for five months.
