Fiorentina director Daniele Pradé insists they have ‘no interest’ in Real Madrid player Isco, despite reports of advanced talks, while Krzysztof Piatek ‘chose us’ over other alternatives.

The Viola have been very active on the transfer market during the January window already, picking up wide attacker Jonathan Ikone from Lille and striker Piatek from Hertha Berlin.

“We did well to complete the squad with two players we needed and get it done early,” said Pradé in today’s press conference presenting the Polish centre-forward.

“All we need to do now from here to January 31 is try to make happy those players who want more playing time.

“This opportunity arrived to get Piatek from before Christmas, he was in Italy anyway and we had the chance to talk. We are happy, as he had other options, but he chose us.”

It is well known that at least one of those interested parties was Piatek’s former club Genoa, who had tried to get him on loan.

That also means Pradé shot down reports from Spain that Fiorentina were in negotiations to take creative midfielder Isco on loan from Real Madrid.

“We heard a lot of rumours about Isco, but we don’t even know who his agents are. He’s a very talented player, but we are not interested in him.”
