Leicester City continue negotiations for Nico Gonzalez, while Liverpool and Atletico Madrid want Sofyan Amrabat, but Fiorentina chief Joe Barone warns ‘it’s not easy to take players from us.’

The Viola are at the centre of the January transfer window gossip columns thanks to two of their internationals.

Attacking winger Nico Gonzalez was forced to miss Argentina’s World Cup triumph due to an injury in the build-up to the tournament, while midfielder Amrabat made his mark with Morocco in Qatar.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Leicester City saw their opening €30m offer for Nico Gonzalez rejected and negotiations continue, both with the club and the player’s entourage.

Meanwhile, Fiorentina director general Barone spoke to reporters at an event today and warned they will not be pushovers on the transfer market.

“Gonzalez and Amrabat are both Fiorentina players. I am pleased that they have received interest from other clubs, but nowadays it is not easy to take players from us.”

The Tuscans are further concerned by the injury to Arthur Cabral that will keep the centre-forward out of action for at least a month.

With that in mind, there are suggestions Fiorentina could ask Roma for Andrea Belotti on loan.

  1. Why would Fiorentina want bench warmer Belotti???? He had one very good year and has been coasting on that for years. His career as a top player seems over at 28.
