Aside from a recent blip, the Viola have been one of the form sides in Italy this year and these Fiorentina vs. Sampdoria predictions suggest that they will get back to winning ways this Sunday.

Fiorentina vs. Sampdoria odds

1 – Fiorentina to win – 2/7

2 – Under 2.5 goals scored – 6/5

3 – Both teams not to score – 7/10

4 – Luka Jović to score at anytime – 13/10

5 – Fiorentina to win to nil – 1/1

Fiorentina were looking as though they may crash the European qualification places a few weeks ago. But three winless games – including the home defeat to Monza last weekend – have stalled their climb up the Serie A table.

But this season has to go down as a success for the Viola. Two cup semi-finals (at the very least) and a top half finish in the league has been a great improvement for Vincenzo Italiano’s side. A home win against bottom of the table Sampdoria this weekend should not be too much of a problem.

Recent results will have surprised Italiano and the Fiorentina fans but three points should be on the cards on Sunday and it seems unlikely that the visitors will even find the net.

It has been a season to forget for Sampdoria. Dejan Stanković has not managed to stop the rot, recording just three wins all season, and now it seems a foregone conclusion that the Blucerchiati will drop down into Serie B.

With the financial problems at the Marassi that may even be the best possible outcome at this point. There is real danger of the club going under and the players have had to have felt the effect of off-field problems.

Samp will be hoping that Fiorentina’s Coppa Italia semi-final second leg against Cremonese will have an effect on the home side’s fitness levels on Sunday. But expecting Stanković’s side to come away from the Stadio Artemio Franchi with anything is really just wishful thinking.

Fiorentina team news

Vincenzo Italiano has no fresh injury concerns – before the Coppa Italia game anyway – so he could stick with the starting XI that lost to Monza last week. If he is tempted to change things around he could bring in Jonathan Ikoné and/or Luka Jović.

Sampdoria team news

There seems little that Dejan Stanković can do to change the inevitable for Sampdoria this season. He may look to Jesé up front later in the game but should start with much the same line-up that picked up a rare point against Spezia last weekend.
