Fiorentina ultras unveiled a banner last night, pushing for Lucas Torreira’s permanent move to the club and joking about a possible swap deal with director Joe Barone.
The Uruguay international was one of the standout performers at the Stadio Artemio Franchi in 2021-22. He had moved to Tuscany on loan with a €15m option to buy from Arsenal, but La Viola haven’t reached an agreement over his salary if his transfer becomes permanent.
For this reason, Torreira is now expected to return to Arsenal even if his agent confirmed yesterday that the player’s priority is to remain at the club where he scored five goals in 31 Serie A games this term.
Fiorentina fans have started a petition to persuade the club to sign Torreira permanently, but a group of ultras is losing patience and criticised club director Joe Barone with a banner unveiled outside the Stadio Franchi last night.
It reads: ‘Torreira to Fiorentina and Barone to Arsenal.’
Así anocheció ayer el Artemio Franchi. La Curva Fiesole colgó esta pancarta cerca de las puertas del estadio.

Squabbling over 15 million for a really good player. Just pay it Barone!!!

The problem ain’t the transfer sum ,rather the players salary.
