Fiorentina will be top seeds in the draw for the Europa Conference League play-offs, allowing them to avoid Gianluca Scamacca’s West Ham United.

The tie will be played on August 17 and 25 to decide who enters the group phase of the UEFA tournament.

Those will be home and away ties, with extra time and a penalty shoot-out if required.

The Viola needed Astana of Kazakhstan to be out of the way for them to secure the status of top seeds in the draw and they got their wish today, as Astana fell to Polish club Rakow.

That means Fiorentina will not be paired against clubs like West Ham United, FC Koln and OGC Nice.

Fiorentina will learn the identity of their opponents after the third qualifying round on August 4 and 11.

It is the first time that the Viola have qualified for European competition since reaching the Europa League in 2016-17.

  1. So sad fiorentina haven’t made a single top player signing look at roma they have the money dybala Abraham top players joining
Ribery joined fiorentina after that no other player has joined

  2. They seem to lose more impact players than they gain. I’m worried they will have a down year. Commisso is emotionally invested in this team, and I’d like to see them have a successful run for his sake.
