Fiorentina have agreed a deal to sign MSK Zilina and Slovakia Under-21 defender David Hancko on a five-year contract.

A statement on Fiorentina’s official website confirms Hancko will arrive on a permanent basis for a reported €3.5m and undergo a medical ‘in the next few days’.

The 20-year-old played 32 times for Zilina last season and has seven caps for his country at U21 level.

His career follows a similar trajectory to Inter’s Milan Skriniar, who joined Sampdoria from the Slovakian side in 2016, while the pair were listed among UEFA’s 50 players to watch in 2018.
