Italian-American billionaire Rocco Commisso will complete the takeover of Fiorentina for €165-170m on Thursday, according to multiple sources.

He flew in over the weekend for negotiations with the Della Valle brothers, who saved the club from bankruptcy 17 years ago, and they are progressing rapidly.

According to Sky Sport Italia, news agency Ansa, La Repubblica and more, a deal has been struck worth €165-170m and the closing paperwork will be signed on Thursday.

Commisso’s associate Joe Barone has been leading the negotiations with the Della Valle family in Milan.

The price was originally believed to be €200m.

Commisso was born in Calabria and moved to America as a child, making his fortune in cable.

He already owns the NY Cosmos and had attempted to purchase Milan last year, before Yonghong Li rejected his proposal and defaulted on loans to Elliott Management.
