Fiorentina have reportedly taken full-back Marcos Alonso off the transfer market, seemingly ending Sunderland’s pursuit.

Latest reports indicated that the Premier League side had tabled an offer of €2.5m cash and ownership of Modibo Diakite, who had similarly spent the last six months of last season on loan at the Artemio Franchi.
However, Tuttomercatoweb report that the 23-year-old has in fact now been taken off the transfer market, with Fiorentina deciding to keep hold of his services heading into the new campaign.
It is believed that Alonso, in starting pre-season with the Viola at their Moena training camp, has done enough to impress Vincenzo Montella and his technical staff to retain his services.
Reports are that Alonso has also received positive indications from Montella that he does have a chance to play with continuity next term for the Florence outfit.
