Fiorentina have set their sights on Chelsea full-back Davide Zappacosta, who revitalised his career on loan at Genoa.
The 29-year-old right-back can play in a four-man defence or on the right of a five-man midfield.
Inter have also been linked with a potential summer swoop for Zappacosta following Achraf Hakimi’s sale to Paris Saint-Germain.
However, their preferred candidate is Hector Bellerin of Arsenal.
Now Fiorentinanews.com claim that Zappacosta could end up back in Serie A anyway for Fiorentina.
The Viola’s new coach Vincenzo Italiano favours a 4-3-3 formation and would appreciate someone of Zappacosta’s experience.
His career has recently been railroaded by injury problems after he left Torino for €25m to join Chelsea in 2017.
He had loan spells at Roma and Genoa, impressing last season with four goals and two assists in 25 Serie A appearances for the Grifone.
Fiorentina need someone on the right, because Pol Lirola is in talks for a permanent move to Olympique Marseille, where he already spent last season on loan.
