Fiorentina have called up new signing Gino Infantino for their friendlies with Newcastle and Nice, but left out Manchester United target Sofyan Amrabat.

The Viola are taking part in the Sela Cup at St. James Park on Saturday and Sunday.

While Infantino has been included, there is no room for Morocco international Amrabat, despite him playing in their most recent friendly outing.

The reason is not hard to ascertain, he remains a target for Manchester United, who have made no secret of their desire to sign the midfielder.

However, they must sell players before they can afford another €30m expense, especially after paying Atalanta €75m plus another €10m in bonuses for striker Rasmus Hojlund.

Sportitalia have noted for weeks that Amrabat agreed personal terms with Manchester United and Fiorentina are ready to sell for the right price, having already struggled to keep hold of him when Barcelona came calling in January.

The Old Trafford side must sell Fred and Donny van de Beek first to open up room for Amrabat.

Fiorentina squad: Amatucci, Biraghi, Bonaventura, Brekalo, Cerofolini, Comuzzo, Dodo, Duncan, Gonzalez, Ikoné, Infantino, Jovic, Kayode, Kokorin, Kouamé, Mandragora, Martinelli, Martinez Quarta, Mendonca CABRAL, Milenkovic, Munteanu, Parisi, Arthur, Ranieri, Sabiri, Terracciano, Vannucchi.
