Fiorentina have reportedly agreed the loan deal sending Josip Brekalo to Hajduk Split, beating interest from Olympiacos.

The creative midfielder had been on the verge of joining his first club Dinamo Zagreb last week only for negotiations to grind to a halt following a change of personnel in Croatia.

Olympiacos had then stepped forward, hoping to sign Brekalo on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.

However, Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia and more are confident a deal has been struck with Hajduk Split.

It is set to be a dry loan – so with no option to make the move permanent in July – but with Fiorentina receiving €200,000.

Brekalo is expected to undergo his medical in Split tomorrow.

The Croatia international made 18 competitive appearances this season for Fiorentina, scoring only one goal.

He was signed from Wolfsburg in January 2023 for €1.7m, having previously played in Serie A for Torino.
