According to multiple reports in Italy, Fiorentina are interested in signing Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot if Alvaro Odriozola returns to Real Madrid in the summer.

The Spaniard moved to the Artemio Franchi on a temporary deal one year ago and the Tuscans don’t have an option to make his move permanent at the end of the season.

They will negotiate with the Merengues, but it’s not guaranteed that Ordiozola will stick around in 2022-23. Therefore, Fiorentina are also considering some alternatives such as Manchester United’s Diogo Dalot. The Portugal international has also been linked with a move to Roma where he would reunite with José Mourinho.

Dalot is not a regular starter at Manchester United and according to Italian transfer expert Niccolò Ceccarini, Fiorentina scouts watched him in action during Turkey vs. Portugal on Thursday night. La Nazione newspaper confirms this morning that Dalot is one of Fiorentina’s targets to potentially replace Odriozola.

Dalot, 23, played 33 games at Milan in 2020-21, scoring two goals. He has collected 22 appearances at Old Trafford this season (1,620 minutes). Odriozola has recently claimed that he’d like to ‘be protagonist’ either at a top club like Real Madrid or somewhere else.
