Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade has categorically ruled out the signing of QPR’s Julio Cesar.

The Brazilian international, available for transfer after QPR were relegated from the Premiership last season, has been linked with the Viola.

“We can dismiss the Julio Cesar option,” the former Roma official told Viola Channel. “That is because that transfer is not feasible.

“We are happy with the two goalkeepers who we have right now and we are evaluating things on a daily basis.

“We have a strong squad, but the players need to give us what we are asking for.”

The Tuscan giants were expected to bring in a new goalkeeper this summer after opting against signing Emiliano Viviano outright.

The latter, a Viola fan and Italian international, spent last term on loan from Palermo.

Fiorentina’s top two ‘keepers at this moment in time are Norbeto Neto and Cristiano Lupatelli.
