Fiorentina and West Ham United are both interested in snapping up Spezia striker M’Bala Nzola, who has also been linked with Roma.
The centre-forward is widely expected to leave Spezia following their relegation to Serie B, having lost the play-off to Hellas Verona.
He turns 27 later this month and the Angola international is under contract until June 2026, so a loan with option to buy is possible, albeit unlikely.
According to the Corriere dello Sport, Fiorentina are ready to make a strong bid for Nzola, as today’s 2-0 pre-season friendly defeat to Newcastle United once again highlighted the inconsistency in front of goal.
However, they face competition from West Ham, who just sold Gianluca Scamacca to Atalanta for €30m including performance-related bonuses that are relatively easy to activate.
Nzola was on target 13 times in 31 Serie A appearances last season, missing a month of the campaign with a calf injury.
The asking price is believed to be at least €10m.
