Fiorentina are ready to negotiate a possible discount with Juventus when they try to make Arthur Melo’s loan move a permanent one.
The midfielder has impressed so far this season under the tutelage of coach Vincenzo Italiano and most importantly has seemingly shaken off the series of injuries.
Officially, Arthur arrived on loan at a cost of €2m plus add-ins with an option to buy for €20m, to be paid in three instalments.
It would also allow the club to extend the current contract from June 2025 to 2026.
However, Calciomercato.com suggest Fiorentina are eager to negotiate with Juventus to see if they can get a discount on that deal.
Their idea would be to add another loan for the 2024-25 season, making it an obligation to buy in June 2025, therefore lowering the buy-out fee to €10m.
With the extended contract, it would also allow Juventus to write off some of the cost of his purchase from Barcelona, which was for €80m in September 2020.
