Fiorentina out-bid by Villarreal for Livakovic

Fiorentina risk missing out on Dominik Livakovic, as it is reported Villarreal are prepared to meet the €10m asking price set by Dinamo Zagreb.

The 28-year-old has 45 senior caps for Croatia and was particularly impressive at the 2022 World Cup, helping them to secure the bronze medal.

He has also been linked with Fenerbahce, but Fiorentina were believed to have made a proposal worth €6m.

That was considered too low by Dinamo Zagreb and they continue to hold out for the €10m price-tag.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, they are going to be repaid for that determination, because Spanish side Villarreal are ready to pay that amount and cut down any potential competition for his signature.

Livakovic is only under contract until June 2024, so Fiorentina felt that the asking price was excessive.

He spent his entire career in Croatia, at NK Zagreb and since 2015 with Dinamo Zagreb, so this will be a significant move.
