Fiorentina have opened talks to sign Domenico Berardi, but Sassuolo‘s asing price is €40m, it’s reported.

La Viola are close to signing Lucas Torreira from Arsenal but are willing to welcome more new faces to the Stadio Artemio Franchi during the last week of the summer transfer window.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Tuscans have opened talks to sign Domenico Berardi.

Although negotiations are not at an advanced stage, Fiorentina have informed Sassuolo about their interest in the Italy international.

However, Sassuolo’s asking price is €40m and the club’s director Giovanni Carnevali claimed last week that Berardi is not on the market.

Carnevali said Berardi will stay at Sassuolo: ‘We are not considering offers’

“No offer has formally arrived for him,” Carnevali said about Berardi’s future to Corriere della Sera.

“We will not consider any negotiations in any case. There would not be enough time and the player has an economic value even higher than the one of Locatelli.”
