Inter midfielder Radja Nainggolan reportedly prefers to re-join Cagliari, forcing Fiorentina to look towards RB Leipzig’s Diego Demme.
Fiorentina seemed to have leapfrogged Cagliari in the race for Nainggolan, agreeing a season-long loan for the Belgian.
However, Gazzetta dello Sport claims the 31-year-old is holding out for a return to Cagliari, where he played between 2010 and 2014.
With that in mind, the newspaper writes the Viola have moved quickly for defensive midfielder Demme.

The 27-year-old has an Italian father and an Italian passport but has pledged his international allegiance to Germany.
He helped Leipzig through the divisions, from the third tier to the Champions League in the space of just four seasons.
However, La Gazzetta notes that while personal terms have already been negotiated, the Bundesliga club want €16m.
Nonetheless, there is confidence that a deal can be done for €11-12m.
