Fiorentina have reportedly decided to make Lucas Torreira’s move from Arsenal permanent by activating their €15m clause.
The former Sampdoria and Atletico Madrid man joined the Tuscans on loan with an option to buy in the summer.
He is a regular starter under Vincenzo Italiano with 15 Serie A appearances this term.
On Sunday, the 25-year-old scored and delivered an assist for Dusan Vlahovic in Fiorentina’s 2-2 draw against Sassuolo.
According to Il Corriere Fiorentino newspaper, La Viola is determined to make his move permanent for €15m at the end of the season and consider Torreira’s signing ‘a formality.’
As per Fiorentinanews, the Serie A side will use part of the income from Dusan Vlahovic’s sale in the summer to buy the midfielder.
Torreira played 71 games at Sampdoria between 2016 and 2018 before completing a €30m move to Arsenal.
He struggled with playing time at the Emirates Stadium, collecting 63 appearances over two seasons. He scored one goal in 19 games while on loan at Atletico Madrid last term.
#Torreira, il riscatto non è più fantascienza e #Commisso (probabilmente) non dovrà neanche sborsare soldi di tasca propria per prenderlo. Il forte legame con Pradè#Fiorentina https://t.co/YWyR8iF0sg
