Fiorentina make last-ditch Vlahovic bid

Fiorentina President Rocco Commisso wants one final meeting with Dusan Vlahovic, his family and agents before abandoning the contract talks, claim reports, hoping to pit the striker against his representatives.

The Sports Office agency rejected the latest renewal offer, meaning with a deal that expires in June 2023, a sale has to be made in January or next summer.

According to TGR RAI Toscana, who are very close to the Viola hierarchy, President Commisso has a plan for one last attempt at reconciliation.

He hopes that a face-to-face meeting in December with Vlahovic, the player’s family and his agents will help to create some tension between the striker and his representatives.

It is widely reported the reason for failed contract extension talks are because the agents want the exclusive rights to negotiate a future sale, plus a 10 per cent commission and a €5m one-off fee as well.

If Vlahovic is sold for the €75m asking price, that would bring them €12.5m from the transfer, getting money both from Fiorentina and whoever purchases the player.

Effectively, the agent would earn a lot more than Vlahovic, so Commisso hopes that laying all that out to the player will make him reconsider his approach to Fiorentina.
