Fiorentina are apparently interested in Samuel Eto’o and are believed by the Gazzetta dello Sport to have already made an initial offer.

The Cameroon international is a free agent this summer at the expiry of his contract with Premier League side Chelsea and he has been increasingly linked with a return to Serie A.

Juventus have been seen as testing the waters for a potential move for the former Inter man, whilst Milan have also recently been listed as an interested party.

Juventus have been seen as testing the waters for a potential move for the former Inter man, whilst Milan have also recently been listed as an interested party.

However, the Gazzetta dello Sport are running the line on Tuesday that Fiorentina are after the striker and have already made initial contact over a proposed deal.

It is believed that the Viola have submitted a one-year contract worth €2m to Eto’o’s representatives.

But, this is seen as falling ‘well below’ the 33-year-old’s expectations, with it understood that he is pressing for a higher salary and ideally also a multi-year deal.

At Chelsea, Eto’o was reportedly on a £7m salary, approximately €8.8m.
