Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade confirms interest in Dnipro striker Nikola Kalinic and Liverpool’s Fabio Borini.

Kalinic’s agent openly stated yesterday that his client would like to move to Serie A this summer, and the Viola director has hinted a deal could happen.

“We’re conducting negotiations with Dnipro [for Kalinic],” Prade admitted, speaking at Davide Astori’s presentation Press conference.

“There are several negotiations in progress, all with the consultation of Coach [Paulo] Sousa. Given the departure of [Mario] Gomez we’re focusing a bit more on a striker.

“In the last 20 days of the transfer market there will be more opportunities.

“Fabio Borini? He’s one of many possible solutions. I repeat, the priority is to buy a striker.”

Prade also praised his new signing Astori, and reveals the Tuscan side had been interested in him for some time.

“We know all about Astori. He reflects the values of Florence, our club and the Della Valle family. He’s a serious and reliable lad, who is willing to sacrifice and work hard to best show his qualities.

“We’ve liked him for a long time, and could have got him last year under [ex-Coach Vincenzo] Montella.

“This year there were favourable conditions to bring him here.”
