If Fiorentina do bow to pressure from Tottenham or Atletico Madrid for Dusan Vlahovic, then they’ll turn to Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca, it’s reported.

There is currently something of a bidding war behind the scenes between Spurs and the reigning champions of Spain for Vlahovic, so far reaching €60m including performance-related bonuses.

The asking price is €70m, so if either club manages to approach that figure, Fiorentina have got to start thinking of a Plan B.

According to Sportitalia transfer expert Gianluigi Longari, the Viola are laying the groundwork for a potential Vlahovic exit by calling Sassuolo.

Their target is Italy Under-21 international Scamacca, who impressed last season on loan at Genoa with 12 goals and two assists in 29 competitive appearances for the club.

Now 22, the centre-forward spent time in the Lazio, Roma and PSV Eindhoven youth academies, before loans at Cremonese, PEC Zwolle, Ascoli and Genoa.

Fiorentina would probably try to take Scamacca on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.
