Massa needed a VAR check to spot the Frenchman’s foul, but Pirlo disagreed with the referee’s decision.

According to Sky Sport, the former midfielder tried to convince Massa that Rabiot’s handball was not worth a penalty kick.

“Look, he was pushed, he was pushed, that’s not a penalty,” Pirlo reportedly told Massa during the VAR check.

Nevertheless, the referee took only a few seconds to notice that Rabiot had his arm up and clearly touched the ball with it.

Juventus sit fourth in the Serie A table, just two points clear of fifth-placed Napoli.
