Fiorentina have emerged as contenders for former Barcelona star Sergi Roberto, now a free agent also linked with Roma, Como and Sevilla.

The 32-year-old still has much to give the world of football after his contract was allowed to run down at Camp Nou this summer.

Having spent his entire career with the Blaugrana, he is looking for a new adventure and was of interest to several Italian clubs.

They include Roma and Como, but now transfer expert Matteo Moretto suggests that Fiorentina have stepped forward with a proposal of their own.

Sergi Roberto has plenty of options

In case the Spain international wants something a little closer to home, Diario AS note that Sevilla have made an approach to see if he would like to join them for free.

The experienced player is a central midfielder, but has also been known to play at right-back on occasion.

He has 11 senior caps for Spain and amassed 245 career appearances in LaLiga.
